Artist’s description:
In honor of ancestors and in remembrance of those who have passed due to injustice, suffering and/or illness, I created the miniature sculptural works, Mugwort Spirits, using plants- Mugwort, Pokeweed and Queen Anne’s Lace. These pieces started with fresh plants 1 year ago and are now completely dry. The fragile nature of each figurine is juxtaposed with the powerful medicine and/or toxins contained within the plants. The pieces are intended for use in intuitive ritual and may be burned outdoors or kept in a space in order to maintain positive energy.
